General Information:

Simultaneous submissions are welcome. However, we ask that you inform us immediately if your piece is accepted elsewhere. If we accept your work, we expect you to immediately withdraw it from all other publications to which you have submitted it. We acquire first publication rights for all works accepted by us. Rights revert to the author immediately upon publication in Deep Water Literary Journal. However, if the work is published elsewhere after this, it must be acknowledged as being published first by us. We also reserve the right to publish selected works in future print anthologies and e-book editions.

We only accept new (previously unpublished) work.

Only one submission per category, in any one reading period, will be considered.

Upon acceptance for publication, Deep Water Literary Journal reserves the right to make minor changes/corrections (where required) to an author’s work. We also reserve the right to format works to suit the journal’s publishing style.

We are unable to pay authors for their work at this time. However, we will offer a niche channel for the exhibition of your work and strive to promote the writers and artists who appear in our journal.

Response Times: We will acknowledge receipt of your work within 3 days of receiving it. It is our goal to make a decision on all submissions within 4 weeks of receipt. We usually respond much quicker than that, but if you have not heard from us within that time frame, then please do query us on the status of your submission: query (at) deepwaterliterary.com

Please note that due to the volume of submissions received, any submissions which do not strictly adhere to the Submission Guidelines, as set out above, will not be acknowledged or considered for publication in Deep Water Literary Journal.
