Seth Jani

The Drowned

He’s by the shore cutting

All attachments.

Letting the indoctrinated light

Filter down into openness.

He won’t be anything anymore

Besides the body of a passing

Wind.

His family, a slant music

That rises from the edges

And becomes the moon.

His heart, a bird swaying

In its salt-nest

Above the waves.

He is coming home

In multiple pieces.

His entire life

Bleached innocent

By the guiltless sea.
