Mark Antony Rossi

Transatlantic Transfiguration

It might have cost thousands

Waiting in a dirty airport

Wading through foreign accents

Wanting big fish and chips

Wanting earl grey tea

Wanting to sleep with a girl

Who actually reads C.P. Snow.

But more profound

Than naked frolic and fried food

Is the book of Huxley lectures

I purchased at a book store

Near Big Ben.

Nobody understands

And I don’t give a damn.

Mark Antony Rossi has poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction forthcoming in the Transnational, Ploughshares, and Anak Sastra. He writes from the Southeastern part of the United States. For more information visit the website: markantonyrossi.jigsy.com.
